The Family Blackboard

- The Family Blackboard -

We have had this blackboard in our kitchen for many years.  And even though it is small in size,  I believe the messages jotted down have had a big impact on our lives.

It started out with "Word of the Week" where each family member would take their turn to write a new word and its meaning.  As the kids grew older, however, they experienced life's ups and downs and so the focus changed and I would write down words of encouragement from the Bible or other popular quotes.

Isn't it amazing what a few inspiring words can do to improve your day?  I hope that my children will pass this family tradition on to their own families someday.

It's never too late to get your own blackboard...

Attention All Brides or soon to be brides...

- Attention All Brides -

I am so thrilled that I have my own Shaklee business and am able to share my passion for better health with others.  There have been many people that have been such a support and encouragement to me and that is why I want to "pay it forward" and support other women and their business endeavors on my blog.

I am so proud to introduce you to my niece Christina Hara, who has just launched her new business - Something Borrowed Bride.   Here is a picture of my sister Laura, Christina and me working at her booth at the Mpls. Convention Center Bridal show.  The booth was filled all day with soon-to-be brides all trying on the veils and headpieces.

Something Borrowed Bride is a business where you can either borrow or buy the veil or headpiece for your wedding.  What a great concept!  So many of us have bought an expensive bridal veil only to pack it away and never use it again.  Why not borrow the veil and save money?  Isn't her logo just adorable?  I can tell you that if you do business with Christina, you will be well taken care of - she is all about the details and making you (the customer) happy.  Check it out.

One last comment, 10% of all the profits are donated to women around the world charities.

WHAT THE HECK IS A HEDGE BALL?

My daughter, Allie, is away at college and she told me she bought a Hedge Ball and put it in her bedroom to keep the spiders away.  She is absolutely afraid of spiders and evidently the hedge ball repels spiders, roaches, water bugs and rodents.  I am not sure if this is true but she sent me these pictures of the hedge ball in her bedroom.

Well, today I was grocery shopping and wouldn't you know it there in the fresh product section was a display of Hedge Balls.  Evidently, if you place the ball on a piece of foil and put it in your basement, kitchen, college residence, or wherever, it will keep away those annoying pests.

After about 6 months to a year, the balls will dry up to the size of a walnut and turn rusty brown-  but they still are effective.

Who would have thought --  Throw away your toxic sprays and buy a Hedge Ball.

Let me know if yours works.  At least my daughter is sleeping better tonight.

Meet Me on Monday Site!

This is new for me but I am following a new blog "Never Growing Old" and entering her Meet Me on Monday questionaire.

Meet Me On Monday

http://nevergrowingold.blogspot.com/search/label/Meet%20Me%20On%20Monday

The questions this week make you really make you think and my answers are below:

1) I can't stand when someone - who is supposed to be your friend (even  a family member) struggles to be happy for you.    After all, aren't we supposed to support each other in life's ups and downs?

2.  Do you do daily, weekly or monthly grocery shopping?  Weekly, because I still have a teenage son at home who is always hungry.

3.  What kind of car do you drive?  I just bought a Buick Enclave.  I have been driving a GMC truck for many years, however, as an almost empty-nester - we saved about $10,000 in switching to a crossover vehicle.

4.  Crunchy or Soft Taco?  I like both but have switched to the vegetarian option.

5.  What's the habit you are proudest of breaking?  Ditching the junk food!

Identical Twins Testimony & The Shaklee Difference

Here is a great testimonial and proof of the long term benefits of taking the Shaklee products.

This story was told before Shaklee came out with two of its best selling products - Vitalizer and Anti-aging Vivix.  Can you image the stories that will be told in the next 20 years after taking these products?  I am glad that I (and my sister Laura) are both faithful Shaklee users.

Mary Anderson from Evansville, Indiana has been a regular user of the entire line of Shaklee products for over 20 years.  Mary's sister rarely uses Shaklee products, preferring to use products made by other companies.

Even though they were born with the same genetic code, Mary has more energy, feels better, looks younger and is healthier than her non-Shaklee twin sister.

Mary has unbounded energy at age 69.  She is active with her church, does a lot of volunteer work and is president of her local Republican Woman's Organization.  Everyone thinks this mother of four and grandmother of six teenagers is younger than 69!

Wow, what an incredible story!  This is just another reason why Shaklee is the #1 Natural Nutritional Company in the U.S.

If you are interested in taking the best products on the market, I recommend Shaklee's Vitalizer.  There are three separate formulas Vitalizer for Men, Women or Gold (for the over 50 crowd).   Everyone in my family takes these convenient vita-strips daily.  They are also great when traveling and even my college kids like these.

The good news is that Shaklee is offering a FREE Membership ($19.95 value) with the purchase of a Vitalizer.  This lifetime membership will save you 15% on future Shaklee purchases.  And if you sign up for the Auto-ship program you will save an additional 10% off the member price.

Don't wait any longer - go to my Shaklee site and join now to save money.

In addition, New Members are eligible for Shaklee's Referral program where you receive $25 toward products for every new Shaklee member you refer to HealthilyEverAfter with a $25 order.

Woman's Best Friend!

This is my pal "Roscoe" - he is a Shih Tzu.    I actually never wanted a dog for our family but my husband, Tony,  said that every kid should have a dog when they grow up.   And even though I take care of Roscoe the most, in hindsight, it has been one of the better decisions that we have made (other than having our kids).

Roscoe follows me around the house all day long and we go for many walks around a nearby park.  He is always there to cuddle with and never criticize me or ask me question.  When any of us walks in the house, he runs and jumps at us until we notice him.   Below are some pictures of Roscoe and you will see why we love him so much.

Even Roscoe is a Notre Dame Fan

My legs are tired, can we go home?

Good Grief, Is He Drunk?

Go to College for Free!

Your never too old to learn something new!

Hey kids wait for me...

If you have a full time student at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota there is a program that might be of interest to you.  It is a program called "Parents on Campus" which allows parent(s) of full-time students to be eligible to take up to two courses (or eight credits) on a space available basis without tuition charge.

Here is a picture of me on my first day of school.  I stopped a complete stranger to take this picture of me, oh my kids would be mortified - too bad.  #HealthilyEverAfter
